Description

Our grandson Ben was 23 years old last week. Instead of a birthday cake, he asked for apple pie and vanilla ice cream. Multiple apple pies were baked but only one pie had HAPPY BIRTHDAY candles. Good thing because these colorful candles look great – do not light them because they melted in seconds - before ben could blow them out. There was wax all over the pie. No one was laughing at the time but looking back, it was very funny looking at all the shocked faces. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

What a nuisance about the candles! A great idea instead of a cake and much healthier!

Congratulations with Ben's birthday. What a shock about your story. I would have like to see the faces when it happens. So well, you captured the apple-pie before it 'died';-), so there will be a (nice?) memory.

WELL done, GRANDPA! (SMILES) .... T.P. would ALSO rather have a GOOD PIE than 'cake' .... BTW: On HIS last b-day, it took him TWO DAYS to blow OUT ALL the candles! (WINK) "HUG 'EM & LUV 'EM", dana!

That was a very cool idea to have a pie for a birthday cake but not so great to have the candles melt all over it. You have captured it beautifully here and it looks very yummy.
