Description

... or vote winner? Improves immeasurably on ZOOMING, thank you.... I remember as a child the horizon at the seaside held a great power, somewhere (bar the odd passing tanker) you could gaze without seeing sign of human impact on the planet. Sigh. I had the pleasure (?) of standing directly underneath a turbine on one of my holiday walks. Contrary what some say, there wasn't a great pile of dead birds underneath it. However the noise was constant, and the sight of the blade tip chopping down at you at well over 200 miles per hour created a certain amount of primal fear in me. Roll on fusion power. Thanks for looking & have a great weekend. ~Steve~

I've never seen any of these out in the water, but I've seen them on the prairie and up in the mountains. They somehow produce a sense of awe and wonder for me, and I haven't yet seen a batch that looked intrusive. Who knows what will happen or how I'll feel in the future? For now, I'm on the plus side of this equation. That being said, I don't know if I'd like to see them every time I went to my local beach. (Living on an inland waterway, I doubt we're a good candidate for turbines ... it isn't very windy here ... but still, I can imagine it.) Aside from all the talk of content, this is a fantastic image! I love the light, the perspective, and it's impactful in mono.

This is a superb image Steve, it certainly ain't no run of the mill shot! I think the turbines are a necessary evil. Zoom is a must.

Still a beautiful photo. We are to have them in the sea near us, and I am for them at present. They attract much wildlife underwater, a sort of man-made reef. As you say, roll on fusion.

a wonderful image but i do have some misgivings about turbines and wonder if they are quite as productive as was first thought. But above all in this instance a wonderful shot with an atmosphere of almost biblical proportions.

Unnecessary and evil - they dont produce enough power to warrant their existance. Great capture though and you're right about the zoom!

great capture of the rays I don't like those blades, they don't make enough energy to justify the sight pollution

stunning rays capture and the wind turbines adds a lot. there are 1000's of them in West Texas. one billionaire that started building them by the 1000's had the nerve to want the utility customers here in the DFW area pay for the electricity to be delivered and pay for it's use. he invested the money to make more money and have his cake and eat it also
