Description

Askham-in-Furness "pier" looking across the Duddon Estuary towards Millom, Cumbria UK. It isn't really a pier at all, or rocks, but the slag from the old ironworks, from which over 7 million tons of ore were extracted in the 19th and early 20th century. Somehow "On the Slag" didn't sound right as a title ;) Thanks for looking & enjoy your weekend! ~Steve~

Reading the title, I expected to see a glass of whiskey LOL. But you're right, it sounds better than slag. It's a great catch. excellent decision ISO and F stop to get that sharpness, and the water is super with low speed.

Incredible view, Steve! I agree about the "slag" word... it just seems so out of place for a such a beautiful scene :) I like the softness about the water, and yet the power in it is obvious. Love how you've captured all the layers of this world!
