Description

Captured 10/2/12, early in the morn, somewhere within the vast perimeter of the neighborhood. Infinitely better viewed via ZOOM. Here's looking at you, kid -- the famous line uttered by Humphrey Bogart to Ingrid Bergman in the 1942 film, Casablanca. I'm sure you all remember that. Can you see the connection with the roses? Au revoir, and have a nice beginning of the week.

A superb capture of these beautiful roses and I am trying to think back to that film but it is a long time since I saw it, but I do remember the phrase.

The pink of perfection, perfectly captured, Harry! Wow, and I'll bet the smell was heavenly. They were clearly watching you watch them... This is the last comment I'll be making before my trip to London today; look forward to seeing your shots when I get back in 10 days.

lol, I guess a few people got the casablanca reference. If it's supposed to look like Bogart, I can see it, just as your son does. I also see a face, any face, looking at us. It's almost as if the growers set it up that way on purpose (I'm sure they didn't!). An absolute must, full size: It blooms in front of one's eyes. And the whites and very light pinks, really pop out, full size. On the left 'eye', the yellow/white accent over the rose is like a big bold eyebrow. (This thing could be Groucho Marx, with some adjustments.) A stunning play of rich pinks against whites, etc. And the upper and lower roses are so saturated and deep...A beautiful capture, and a fine eye to find this oddity in the first place. (Harry---I can't do flowers! I mean my flower shots are awful. I've drawn them, but I can't shoot them for the life of me. My camera has actually threatened to leave me if I tried it again. It makes me appreciate your mastery of them all the more.) Another beautiful entry into this, one of the best series on Renderosity.
