The link below will take you to the last post in the Coyote Buttes Wilderness(south unit). To see some more recent images, please visit the gallery.
While seeing and hearing all the thunderstorm activity just to the northeast. It prompted me to turn around and check my six. Knowing this area and it's unforgiving ways when it rains, it was instinctive. I did not even think at the time, just did it.
There was still spots of blue sky behind me, but the clouds were clearly building as the late afternoon hours progressed. This being Monsoon season I decided to press on but a little farther before turning back.
I have taken some digi fiddlin liberties on the sky. It was not that blue ;~p, a great weekend to all!

Totally freakin' awesome picture like always, but I just had a funny thought too. Does this look like the perfect place to set up an ambush or what? LOL. You know, like in the old western movies. It's pretty hard to imagine people living there though. I can't remember if there's water nearby.

Excellent, luv the POV!

Looks great to me - including fixed sky. The increased contrast with the red sandstone really works. I like the leading line of the canyon and how you are forced into the view by the walls.

A very beautiful clear capture but I can see it wouldn't be a great place to be in a storm. I love the blue sky you have given this as it makes everything stand out so well against it. How amazing that the little bush has managed to grow in this place.
