Description

Tired and weary, the fight for a belief goes on, but on the horizon, not so far away, the rain is coming, and the question hesitates in the air, "Will we live to fight another day?" This is the Color Version of my sketch, "The Rain's Coming..." The color was applied through PSP7, more color added as needed and moved around using the smudge an push tools. There are no filters used. The Frame and Rose were done in PSP7. Final touch ups were done in Corel. I was determined once I began this project that it would be as much my own as possible. I believe I accomplished that goal. That is most probably why it took me a week and a half of solid work from beginning to end. I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I have enjoyed doing the work...Cheryl

Cheryl, the color version is 5-stars! Fantastic! You keep the same feelings of the non-colored, but noy, the colors enhaces the dramatic moment, the pain and the fear.

There's no shame whatever in taking a week, two weeks or even a month to work on a piece of art Cheryl - in fact - quite the opposite applies because it shows that you care deeply about the art you present, and that is not only highly commendable, it's the disposition of a great artist being born within you. Many of my paintings took 3 to 5 months to complete, and that's putting in about 6 to 10 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week. This doesn't even count the many additional hours I spend doing the smaller fast paintings as experiments for the completed project. So taking a week and a half to complete this wonderful tribute to a by-gone era has produced an image of dignity, class and distinction. My eye was drawn to the intricate details of the bird, butterfly and what appears to be a mushroom or small flower to the left of the soldier. This render rates an "Excellent" solely on your dedication to your craft. Nicely done Cheryl.

Thats very Exspressive. I love how you have captured their personalities and you can see what they are feeling by the looks on their faces. The man in the upper left looks kind of like he could be related to you.

You get better with each one, and like racin-jason said, it's not how long you take, but how wonderful the result and this is. I like the choice of colors to give it that dark misty rainy day to show even more of the hardship. I love this one a lot...The color really adds to the tale...
