Description
"I've always believed a portrait
captures a human being far better
than a photograph." Lawrence from
the movie "Monsters Ball"
Here I am, sitting alone again,
another night at this "damned cafe'"
Waiting, always waiting for
someone, anyone to ease the
loneliness burning inside.
No one would know I was
in so much pain,
for when I dress up
and put on My make-up,
I become a different woman.
After all...
It was a night at the Bijou.
Nothing could ever get in the way.
Besides what would I ever do without it...
The sketch was referenced through
a photo taken by French Born,
Transylvania Artist-Gyula Brassi (1899-1984).
The original photo is entitled:
"Bijou" of the Montamartre Cabarets
from "Paris by Night" 1933
The sketch was done with HB, 2B and 3B pencil. The Frame, Rose and Corner Hats were acccomplished through PSP7 with
finishing touches done in Corel.
I hope you like it...Cheryl

Again, I want to emphasize the inspiration that you give me to continue sketching even when I am tired from making a living. I enjoy your desire and love for being an artist. Thank you so much for bringing that desire back again. You are an inspiration. Continue to inspire us all.

This is wonderful, Cheryl. The detail, once again, is fantastic. I like the way you have her leg poised..very pretty.

Beautiful as always with great sense of detail and emotion in the character, which is what a true artist does, captures moments. Great work...

A good work, but a little sad, to my eyes. Excellent.

You certainly captured her expression beautifully Cheryl, and I love how her impatience shows by her fondling her necklace. Keep going girl - as bkelly said; "You are an inspiration" just in your dedication alone.
