Description

Full size is best! This is the view from the rooftop veranda of the hotel I stayed at for a night in Istanbul. The sun was setting and I climbed onto the roof to take advantage of the Golden Hour light as it fell across the harbour of the Old City quarters. And it worked, the colors of the old quarter were just gorgeous as the fading light illuminated the rats nest maze of warrens and narrow, twisty windy streets of the harbour area bordering on the Bosphorous. Kinda hard to believe that world famous wonders of the world such as Hague Sophia and the Blue Mosque were just a 20 minute walk from here.

This is a very colorful place! Wow :) Great view and shot Roxy! Did you go in the purse store? I have a friend I know would be in there in a flash. Looks like corrugated tin is popular roofing there. But then why not since it probably only ever rains for bad weather there.

Beautiful pic and love the vibrancy to the image. That's quite a ramshackle looking part of the city. Quite a conglomeration of shops and living spaces. And corugated tin roofs with satelite dishes popping out! Oddly old and modern at once.

OK, I'm a bit cross about the wonky horizon, but the detail on zoom is fab! A lot of Sky Sports fans here, by the look of it :)
