Description

The London district of South Kensington abounds in prestigious and world-class museums like no other place on the planet. Nowhere else would you find the likes of the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Royal Albert Hall all easily within 1 square km and a large number of elegant hotels. There's good reason these bastions of culture are clustered together and the streets that connect them carry titles like: Exhibition Road and Queen's Gate Terrace. They were all created for Queen Victoria's Great Exhibition in Hyde Park in 1851. This investment in arts and science set off a local building boom which created the large terraced houses this high class residential area is famous for. My last shot of London for a while. Moving on to Turkey where I spent a few weeks in the eastern half of the country in September.

Nicely composed shot. Love the angles and how the end is off center. Nice postwork, it seems to make the sky a little more ominous. Surprising how the street is so clear of people. I wish the world would focus on the arts like that these days.

Crazy people parking and driving on the wrong side of the road ;) I'm with Art, it's too bad more governments, world leaders would rather focus on destruction and carnage than creativity and art in all it's forms. Some lovely architecture here and a wonderful 'snap' of it Roxy! Wonderful after-fx too. Looking forward to the Turkey pics! Thanks for reading the story :) Tis not over yet, you know.

Oh Roxy, this is my all time fav. You captured a super image here and turned it into a renaissance painting in your post work.Great representaion of linear perspective and using light to accomplish this. What action did you use for this one? Bet this was fantastic on a big screen as even full view does not do it justice. Has the feel that you can just walk into the street. Love it. Super job.

I am not even trying to guess what the average rent is there..:) Nice and sunny pic..lovely perspective! You ran the HDR filter on this?...Next time when you don't run the risk of standing in the middle of the road...go for the full range..Make like 5 pics with 1 or 2 stops in between ( better use a tripod for that though) and then turn those into one HDR pic. You''ll have a pic that is sharp from your feet to the end of the street:)
