Description
Another photo from Old Town Albuquerque. The tapestry depicting Our Lady of Guadalupe & the well-dressed Día de los Muertos skeleton were on display on a balcony overlooking a small back alley courtyard. I thought it was an interesting juxtaposition of Christian & pagan imagery...

A lot could be said about this juxtaposition. For even though the natives were assimulated into the Catholic faith and many became devote there always remained an undercurrent of the old faiths. Well captured here.
