Description
An ancient Mayan calendar that has been accurately keeping time for thousands of years will inexplicably run out of dates some time around the Winter Solstice in 2012. How will the world end?
Here is Scenario #8:
8 Tables Toppling:
The Big Ones
A dozen or more earthquakes striking simultaneously across the globe could just about do it. In fact, the proliferation of earthquakes is cited in The Bible as one of the signs of The End (Matthew, Chapter 24). And while some would argue that seismic activity is happening constantly, major quakes do seem to be occurring with greater frequency. Here in the USA, the Big One could very well hit the West Coast, just as most of us believe. But recent news stories confirm that dormant fault lines along the East Coast are also now beginning to stir. And amazingly, the region with the highest risk of catastrophe is the Midwest. The 1811-1812 New Madrid quake was so powerful that it created new lakes and changed the course of the Mississippi River. And its epicenter was located between what are now the cities of St. Louis, MO and Memphis, TN.
