Description
slow, steady... like a heartbeat, the heartbeat of thousands of years, the songs that stretch back through time, through memory, through the existence of a people..... from a time before the white man... when there were only Human Beings on Turtle Island. Slow, steady... the heartbeat from and for generations... the heartbeat of a people.... every civilization has this heartbeat... it's one of the things that keeps us together in one family...
When I shot the dancers, there was only the one drummer, and he did an excellent performance of drumming and singing, his voice resonating across the field.... I've been to Pow Wows where there were a dozen men around a large drum.. the sounds reverberating through my flesh, touching my soul... a single drummer does the same... sends out shockwaves, ancient and powerful...
I'm going to take a short break from the fotos to post some Haloowe'en images, as it is the best part of the year, and then back to the Midway and other event..
and I thank everybody for their support and their comments on all my previous images... it really touches me....

Your captures of The People have been very close to my heart and done so very well. You have shown the dignity and openness in their hearts. I have a deep appreciation for the drummer of dances because he is the one who can bring the spiritual world and the human world together. A drummer can always open that door. Wonderful capture - this and the others.
