I have to give you a "10" for this whether it has been done before or not. I know from years of experience that it is dad-gum impossible to get a clear shot from this spot without a single person in view. :-) That alone is a huge achievement. The fact that you also found the glory in it, as well, is delightful. This was a regular stop for me when I lived there. Every week, sometimes twice a week, Monday - Friday, I would ride the bus downtown to sit in the gardens behind this building and eat my lunch. The feeling of those great Texans is strong on the grounds, still instilling a pride that sends chills down my back.

Great photo! I always wanted to dress like Davy Crockett and hang out in front of the Alamo.

An excellent capture of a historically powerful location. It is the basis of both History and Legend. I showed it to a good friend of mine who is a direct descendant of Davy Crockett. He has been to the Alamo and even the photograph stirs the family legends of that momentous event. Excellent photo, Richard!!!!!

I've been there sometimes in 69-70. There was one guy just a half block away playing his home made street drums made out of a barrel. He played for money he was very good. Nice to go back in time for memories. Thanks. Aloha

Thanks for posting. There is a stark contrast between the green grass of today compared to the bare earth and destruction present at the time of the battle.
