Greetings to the people of Earth.
I've always wanted to say that! Now that I did, I can now get on with other things.
I'm a science fiction writer (not famous yet) born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I've lived in the Czech Republic and Germany, and though I am currently back in Chicago, much of my heart remains in the Czech Republic. Maybe it's the beer. Or the bread. I hope to live in Moscow soon, as a big portion of my heart already resides there. I've had an interest in science fiction since an early age and will probably maintain that interest for the rest of my life. I love SF, and anything else that embraces the spirit of discovery...or anything that chafes against the arbitrary boundaries of "conformity."Â
I discovered Renderosity a couple of years back when I was browsing the internet, looking for cool images to spark my imagination during a period of writer's block. It wasn't a serious block, but I needed something to make me ask the sorts of questions that I always ask before settling down to craft a short story or novella. Since that time, I've written quite a lot and I've begun to post photographs and other visual works that I created here...partially because I love the Renderosity community in general, and partially because the images and text-snippets that I have contributed here are something of an ongoing journal. I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to journal keeping, and so posting picures of particular significance actually helps me to remember the things I want to remembe, without having to eat into my fiction writing time by writing non fiction. Well, at least that's my excuse and I am sticking with it.
I entered into the field of photography totally by accident; I'd always been interested in capturing small stories, but it wasn't until my journey to Europe that I began to consciously seek out tableaus that imply stories in progress. As a result of that, my writing is growing in unexpected directions, and I look forward to becoming more and more active here, and in other artistic/publishing fields.
For those looking at my gallery, enjoy it and feel free to leave comments and sitemail! Good day to all!

It's so nice to see another post from you! I love the photo, I grew up in the grape-growing part of Southwest Michigan, so I'm well-acquainted with their wild-cousins. I've always thought the wild grapes were if anything best compared to the fruit of life's lessons: often hard and bitter, but also frequently full of surprisingly wonderful pleasures too. In fact, one of the best of the "exotic desert wines" I've ever had was made from wild grapes much like these. I sure hope your computer-problems don't cost you too dearly, both in the financial and the personal and creative sense.

just find the ON/OFF switch on the Android and flip the bugger to OFF and shut him up for a while (unless he has a way to self-start - and then you are screwed) Glad to hear that your computer is okay

Your shot brings to mind the venerable Earthship Ark - see 'The Starlost'. Trumbull's original concept was to have the vessel look like a cluster of grapes from a distance. Each grape being an entire world. Alas the sans-Trumbull final model was something less so, but still not too bad for low budget 70's TV. Ah the memories. As always, nature will have the final say over all of mankind's works. Be it an abandoned truck or an empty parking lot. I guess today of all days is an excellent reminder of these truths. If I ever own a parking lot I'm going to name it 'Paved Paradise'

Ah HA! Looming orbs of grapeishness! Now you've done it! My God they look sinister. Like something out of Blake's Seven. The Federation is going to get for this! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Think I need to cut down on the caffeine. Great shot!

If Mars turns out to have a water history perhaps this is what Martian grapes might have looked like...their very surface looks similar to Mars, LOL! Glad to see you back!

Beautiful fruits and you are right, they look very bitter like SLOEs. Well, I couldnt say if it is some kind of sloes, because I cannot see the leaves and you mentioned wine. It doesnt matter though, because it is a mighty beautiful shot, no matter which kind of fruits they are.

This looks like something you'd see under a microscope! Do you remember the cartoon Fantastic Voyage? It makes me think of that sort of thing. Great shot!
