Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

you know you just can't help but to wonder if the old alligator ever thought that he be holding an old oil lantern by his jaws and be stared at by a bunch of mobile food. Great capture Dana

Sorry but I would rather see this fine chap splashing around in its lake.

Too cool!

Now that's probably the best lantern holder I've seen! Too bad it is electrified but I guess there would be too much heat for the jaw using a real oil lamp.

A super 'snap' Dana, what a novel idea.

outstanding taxidermy. Gators are difficult and especially open mounted. I once found a horse's skull in the desert. cleaned it and shoved an aquarium light up the nose - opened the passage from the nose to the eye sockets and wired up a plug for it all. Hung on the wall and at night, I'd turn it on and that horse came to life with a fabulous evening mood light in the hallway. This would be a great addition to mood lighting in any home.

Wow Dana, that's an original lamp holder and would be a conversation piece anywhere. I love Saint. Augustine, been there several times!
