Description
Captured 10/24/12, about 10:15 am, outside a medical building in beautiful Long Beach, California.
I'm glad I followed my photographer's instincts by carrying along a camera on my way to see the dermatologist that bright and sunny day.
Shadows from various sources in this one. I was going to include this in a collage but felt it dramatic enough to stand alone. A short collage of the same subject matter is set for tomorrow.
Much cool in ZOOM.
Incidentally, an ensuing biopsy revealed a small patch of skin cancer on my arm, so a return trip to the doctor is scheduled for Monday. Been there, done that, several times before. In fact, one of their doctors once referred to me as a frequent flyer.
Cheerybye, and have a nice day.

Wonderful find here, Harry; that's the same reason I always have mine with me no matter where I'm going, you don't want to miss out on something really cool like this spread of shadowplay. Excellent capture! Good luck with the procedure Monday; my old dad is having an aortic aneurysm repair on Monday. This aging thing really gets old, doesn't it?

Great shadows and light in this excellent capture. I hope the dermatologist gets all of that skin cancer. I too have this problem.

well, the medical procedure is over now, and it was a success, for which I'm very happy. As for the shot, I loved it when it went up, and love it as much now. A beautiful collection of darks and lights, rich shadows and broad swaths of sun, greens against off-whites and sand-hues. And all that linear detail. It's wonderful, because the line shadows come, I assume, from a fence: But it harmonizes perfectly with the lines of the bench, like they met as old friends. You even have lines in the reflections in a top window. And interesting line-plays in the background, behind the bench...Then, with your eye for abstraction, you've given us a diagonal in the lower right corner; and your perspective is wonderfully askew, via angles and tilts and perpendiculars. Like your lock shots, this seemingly 'simple' capture is awash in giddy energies, flows and contrasts. Archetypal for your gallery, a simple resting place that becomes a vibrant abstract in your hands. Glad the medical results were as good as the visual: A wonderful piece.
