Fritz looking glamorous.

Yesterday was annual health inspection and injections for Ralphie and Fritz: I have had them both four years already.
In preparation for this I had to get a urine sample from Fritz, which I must tell you is easier said than done with such a low-slung dog!
I won't give you TMI but with the aid of a little tray used for serving tempting snacks to visitors I managed it.
Because of his epilepsy he is on phenabarbitone which overworks the liver, and as I refuse to subject him to blood tests which completely freak him out the urine test is essential. Anyway all is well.
While we were there Buster and Rosie had their toenails cut: Buster loves having his feet massaged, but produce the croppers and he is off! He struggled with the vet nurses but eventually relaxed and let them do it. It took three of them, which is why I can't do it myself.
All that cost about a week's rent from one of my lodgers..which is one of the reasons I share my house!

My Mickey hated the nail clippers too... now the electric gtinder (same, or similar to a plain old dremel drill makes the ordeal fast and far better!) No more bleeders - lots lets post-procedure licking, etc.! LOL on your creativity with Fritz. I am surprised your vet didn't offer to do a quick contact catheter to make ease of this procedure for you. (Cost is next to nothing) - As always; a beautiful photo!

A most lovely Portrait of your dear Fritz. That's quit a job that has to be done, Andrea I guess it's once in a year you have to do that inspection, with your boys and girl. Anyway, I can imagine it's a bit a relieve it's fixed again! :)

Fritz looks so handsome here. I didn't know he was epileptic. Hester had old age epilepsy, started at 11 1/2.

What a little softie he is! It's a gorgeous portrait you've gotten here. I know the toenail woes, I have to take mine into the groomers for clipping as she won't even let me touch them, unless it's her digging them into my skin. Yesterday was bath and grooming day for her.

This has the potential to PW out the non-essential, give DOF blur to the backround and softened on the edges to produce an award winning portrait of the species. Not saying this isn't stellar as it stands, but it could be developed into something used in training books and behavior books I've seen in the pet stores and vet offices around here. He is just an amazing doxie and your have outdone yourself in the animal portraits on this one.

looking good lying there i would hate to have to get a urine sample from Winston i don't think he would even let me need to take winston in first of year to get shots... and something for his seizures which are getting more often i always keep sugar water on hand for him or pedialyte...... Keeping up a dog is almost important as taking care of ourselves... Great capture of Fritz here hugs susan~
