Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Wonderfully timed shot Andrea! This crew looks like they truly are sun worshipping. They would have loved being on the cruise Glenda and I just got back from. Every day was bright and hot sunshine. Sometimes cloudy in the early mornings but by 9am was bright sunshine each day.

Great shot they seem to be soaking it up. We started the day in Bucks with a good frost turning to sunshine and by lunchtime rain so we got the lot today.

THEY ARE TOO CUTE

A plethora of stark contrast in this pic of your alert canine corps soaking up the rays, Andrea. Our bright and sunny days have been reaching into the mid and high 90s Fahrenheit, this week. Most unseasonal, but drastic cooling and some rain is forecast toward the end of the week.

A super capture with all of them taking in the afternoon sun. Our climate is like that too you never know what the day will bring.

Gotta love that temperate maritime climate! :) When I'm travelling, I dream of damp mist. I love this shot of your furfamily! They look totally content, doing exactly what suits them best in the moment. Lovely!

wow, the flickr version is so different! They're all looking in their own directions, almost like a fashion shot meant to show "action". I know it wasn't posed, but it's amazing how everyone looked their own way all at once. This shot is more of everyone basking, and they look so content soaking it all in. Buster's not squinting (as Bill points out), but he seems content all the same. I really like your angle along with the contrast of that floral lounge chair with the dogs and with the dark greens of the background. A splendid composition to my eye, and just a luscious shot of dogs taking in the beauty of the sun. Your dog shots are wonderful, and have made all of us feel them as family. Wonderful portrait.
