Their return from Phyristor was greeted with fanfare and honors. Everyone’s eyes went to Gwenvael, now wielder of one of the greatest of the Elven Mindswords. If she would still be so when the entire quest to defeat Lolth was done or not, that was another question. But for now, she was being lauded as the next Elflord, the wielder of the Blade of Kings, Minithindyr. Lord Galladorn, wielder of Syvasgothrym, the Emerald Blade of the Woodlands, and His Holiness, Idomineus of Carellon, wielder of Altruelle, the Silver Blade of Faith, were both in attendance at Syvasgaard when the Night Raptors returned with their prize. Stories of their journey and their final battle against the mutant terror who had claimed the throne of King of the Mountain Giants were told into the night by Baldwin Smythe of the Stacked Deck. Wendy did him one better by showing the recorded video log from her scanner. In the rush to crown a new Elflord however, some had managed to overlook a vital part in that victory.

The young priestess had often been overlooked. She’d been sold as a slave by her own father in Tarkania. She’d been raped and beaten and lived for a year as a wild animal when she finally escaped slavery. Even when her powers and abilities began to fully manifest, she was unknown. Another had claimed the title of Dorava Ha’zhual before her. Others had defeated the Shadows. It seemed she existed for no purpose, to remain hidden even amongst her friends. But after what she’d experienced on this last adventure of the Raptors, her powers had grown yet again. Her magical powers rivaled the Reverend Mother Kamilah al’Durran’s. Her psionics were growing ever more powerful. The pool of energy now available to her was astounding. And though she was barely into her twenties, she was now one of the most valued agents of The Hidden.

Perhaps it was no surprise to Gwenvael, but it was certainly a shock to Chianna when she was summoned to the Tower of Light two days later, on the eve of their departure into the Void to find and destroy The Mind of Lolth. When she descended the stairs from that lofty height, her steps watched by psi-warriors of The Hidden, she bore a new name, Dorava Luminos, Psi-Mystic of the Tower of Light, bestowed upon her by none other than the Light of Apos herself, Mistress Nova.
