Description

Here's another photo from our recent trip to Arkansas. This was taken from one of the overlooks scattered around the top of Mt. Magazine, the highest point in Arkansas. My time here in the galleries is going to be very limited for a while - and unfortuantely, I'm not 'bluffing' about that. The company I work for contracts equipment and on-site service to a printing company called Deluxe - your personal bank checks probably come from one of three main plants. One of those plants is here in the Kansas City area, where I work. One of the other big plants is in Moutain Lakes, NJ. The MT. Lakes plant is shut down with no power as a result of Sandy's swath of destruction. There currently is no estimate on when the Mt. Lakes plant will become operational. All the print work that went there is now coming to our plant. The end result, of course, is we are now working on a 24/7 basis - no weekends off for the forseeable future. I'm working the graveyard shift at the moment, so when I'm not working or sleeping, I'm wandering around in zombie mode, bumping into things and mumbling to myself :-P I'll be trying to keep up with comments, and do some art when I can, but if I don't show up for a few days, just wanted to let you know I'm OK, other than the occaisional bruise from tripping over my own feet... Happy Birthday to all the November kiddies! I'll try to have something for all of you in a few days! Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you all have a great week! My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by Sandy's wrath.

That is a really good shot Rod. We went down in the Spring. It ended up being very foggy and couldn't see anything. But it was still fun.

A fine stand of rock Rod. I have pleasantly given up on zombie mode (no work at all) but I remember it well:) Neat pic!

That is such a spectacular photo, I wish I'd been paying attention when you posted it, though. Hopefully things will be getting back to something closer to normality for you, being over-worked is never fun.

Beautiful shot. I can almost see fossils hidden in there somewhere. Inspirational shot. Sorry about the long hours. Amazing how far reaching such disasters are. I've been delayed in commenting so I'm hoping things may be back to normal for you by now.

First of all a fantastic shot. The turning of the leaves is just awesome in Arkansas. Can only be comparable to Vermont or something like that. Beautiful place, I wonder how many white tail one can find down there :) "when I'm not working or sleeping, I'm wandering around in zombie mode, bumping into things and mumbling to myself" it describes me to a T also, lol, but take care of yourself so you don't get sick Buddy. Cheers!!!

You just full of bluff and bluster. I remember working 7 days a week 6 am to 9 pm for weeks on end every time a disaster struck. If I was working I would have been in one of the states Sandy hit.Of course at the time the insurance company paid 75.00 per day on top of your salary. I think they have to pay overtime now. very beautiful capture. I was going to hike there longer until someone told me the trail was 8 miles long.then I would have to walk back to my car another 8 miles. I know how you felt working 16/7. I did it for 3 months when I was young
