Description

For my 400th image, I wanted something BIG. And it would be difficult to get much bigger than.... I'm sure you've all heard by now that Disney has puchased the rights to the entire Star Wars universe from Lucasarts..... For Four BILLION dollars... That's pretty bloody big! I get excited over a 20-dollar bill... I can't even begin to comprehend 4 billion... There are now 3 additional movies in the planning stages - Episodes 7,8, and 9. A lot of ideas went through the cream cheese that now suffices for my mind, so I had to put a little something together. To paraphrase Grand Moff Tarkin, "You don't know how difficult it was for me to sign the order to put mouse ears on Lord Vader...." I had actually thought about depicting Jar-Jar Binks as the new Chancellor, but I didn't want Alex coming after me with one of those flechette pistols - those things are nasty! Anyway...... Starring as our new Jedi heroes are Ray's very own Cherry and Clay (SidheRoseGraphic's Cherry and Clay available at YURDigital - go get 'em! *waves hand like a Jedi*). I used a couple of NightmareHero's most excellent spaceships, and the 'DeathStar' is simply a Poser ball primative with a shader included in Poser. Starfield background courtesy of NASA. Thanks to pgmeri01 for the astro-droid, and Sam Therapy for the Dalek. Clay's outfit is the 'Batman' armour by IceBoy (shareCG). I found the Star Wars font somewhere out there -in a galaxy not so far far away.... :-P Just Google Star Wars Fonts... Hope you enjoy this bit of fun as much as I enjoyed putting it together! And now, back to working on Page 16 of the T.N.A. saga! And I'd be remiss for not saying a big THANK YOU to all my excellent friends here at Rendo! Your support and encouragement more than anything else has helped me grow as an artist, has helped me through some very difficult times, and is a BIG part of the reason I have 400 images in my gallery. Thank you all so much! You truly do..... ROCK! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Fantastic work Rod! I do hope that whatever they do, they don't bring in creatures/characters that make Jar Jar or Ewoks look good....

OMG mouse ears on Lord Vader! ROFLMAO. I suppose as long as he doesn't tinkle like Tinkerbell or giggle like Mickey now it's okay. Jar-Jar Binks would have defintely been a disaster. Lol. I like 'Princess Cherry' and 'Clay Skywalker' :D Thank you dear. They look great and quite capable in their roles. Excellent dedi to this questionable liason. Not sure what I think about it but I hope it all works out for the best. That is a ton o' money! Congratulations on image 400 too :)

jar jar binks is related to goofy??? say it isn't so - lol Walt Never would of bought Star Wars - what a waste... he would of taken that money and created something a hell of a lot better than star wars - seriously.... I guess we're not going to get any new rides at Disneyland or Disneyworld in our life time. People always compare Roddenberry and Lucas, Star Trek and Star Wars.... Star Trek was f--king brilliant... let's kill our characters and bring them back to life - lol... Lucas was an idiot... let's take this bad as guy, remove his helmet and show that he's actually a nice old man that was controlled by an evil emperor that he kills anyway - end of show... end of the characters - man, he killed the character brought them back as ghosts, but it's too late, not even Mickey Mouse can save them - lol.... and that is why I think it was stupid for Disney to buy the rights of Star wars..... now, Michael Jackson was brilliant buying the rights to the Beetles.... no one in his family line should ever have to work again with his music and the Beetles = lol .... Jar jar, get off of Goofy, I don't care if he taught you doggie style! lol

Awesome Image, and congrats on your 400th post! I like how you put Mickey's ears on Vader!... Now Disney bought the rights to Starwars...oh man I can see their writers screwing up the starwars universe! I know Episodes 7,8, and 9 are going to suck!! With star trek, next Gen, Deep space 9, star trek voyager...they stayed true to the original, but now that they bought the rights, they can do anything they want! I guess well see what happens...

Cool render. But what's up with the plumber droid? I myself hope they don't bring in any of the original actors. They're just too old, and Carrie Fischer is just too nutty.

Thank you for 400 images Rod. The real hereo of Starwars is George Lucas who is donating almost the entire bag of loot to educational charities. Kinda said when a philanthropist has to pay for America to be educated but whatever it takes we need more like him if we are ever gonna have people who can make his technological vision a reality.

Personally I am hoping this breathes life into a floundering franchise. Can't be any worse that what Lucas himself did to it! Fingers crossed for an appearance of Admiral Thrawn!

400th....Wow!...Well not to be the rain on a most joyous parade but I'm not into Star Wars anymore since they decided to remake upon remake and after awhile it gets old that they can't seem to come up with any new ideas anymore except remakes...Though I enjoy what you created I just think they need to leave a classic like the original SW alone is all...Selling it to Disney is one way to preserve it for future generations to come but just not remake it is all.
