Description

Just a doodle using Gypsyangel's Men of the Night's* Martin (with small tweaks) to be Captain Jack Aubrey, of Master and Commander fame. (I am not quite satisfied with his hair, the crew calls him Goldilocks in the books). He's also missing his coat and his sword--I would have painted in his sword belt and hanger but I haven't yet found a good reference for it, since the original paintings always have the waistcoat tails over it. But the coffee pot and cup are right for 1810. ... Thank you for everyone who left me notes on my last render! It's so appreciated! *I think MOTN is at Daz now, but Quinn is a perfectly good stand-in for Martin. The texture I used is Nico from Daz as well.

I like this,id smudge the jaw shadow perhaps as it attracts my eye and seems a little dark compared with the rest of the painted look .:))cal

The image looks very authentic like a master's work. I really like the folds on his sleeves and clothing too, amazing details!

I love the painterly effect you've rendered here; and it's interesting in that parts of it really make me think of a watercolor sort of work, but the details and the overall "feel" of it is somewhat other than what I often expect from watercolors, and I rather like that. I love the character and the expression on his face is priceless. I think the incomplete-ness of the image is what makes it work on so many levels. This is really well done. It's subtle and elegant as well. I like subtlety.

How did I miss this one? Wonderful job on the hair as always, and the clothes are amazing. Love those painterly folds and tones.

1856 in my backlog. Impressive render like the painted/printed effect you applied on this one. I will miss you, as I am leaving after I get rid of this backlog.
