Description

I had a day at the nature reserve and saw nothing. I had a lens I was hoping to put through it's paces, no such luck! I came home sat at my computer and saw this bird. It was on the roof of the house across the street ( about 40 meters away ). So I got the picture shooting through the Venetian blinds, forcing them apart. It was also through double glazing. It looks a bit grainy up close. I had to use higher ISO as I was hand holding. This is the centre piece enlarged. The lens I was testing, a Sigma EX 70-200mm f2.8 USM OS with a Sigma Apo x2 teleconverter for anyone curious.

Hah! It just goes to show something or other! What a great resul. I too got a pic of o male on my pergola with my little camera on 10x zoom and then he was gone. He is in my bird set on Flickr, and I was going to make you a link but I have't learned to do it on the iPad yet!
