as it is at the Lost & Found Cafe, in my home town (I do the 'shopping' for the menu and get it ready for the upcoming night. Monday Night we will be serving Beef Stroganoff (SIC?). every day I work, I bring up from the warehouse a minimum of 20 food boxes to replace the ones that went out the door the previous day. being hungry has not changed over the decades, just the faces and a lot of those are getting younger

I take my hat before all people who help others, especially in emergency situations. Many people do this voluntarily, because it gives them a heart task is. Each of us should engage in some form. My husband and I had years ago every year a child from Chernobyl for 2 months taken from us. A month in non-radioactive environment extended her life by 6 months. Today we support homeless with clothing (especially in winter) and donate to the supply of food. There are many ways to help.

The light you captured here is superb. It gives the shots an immediacy that makes me think they should be in a coffee table book on b&w photography. REALLY fine work!

Last Sunday I helped feed some of the homeless of San Antonio. There is a program called Under the Bridge founded in 1988 by Ellen Ott. I do very little, usually helping about once a month with cooking and serving. The people who come up are quiet, respectful, and thankful. There are many thank you's and God bless you's as they file orderly past the tables for their meals. There but for fortune... These are wonderful images you are posting! Like on last Sunday, I look into these faces and see the humanity, the hard times, the resilience of the men here. Many look very solitary, perhaps wrapped in the familiarity of their need. What lives have they lead, what dreams have been shattered, perhaps so long ago that they forgot they even had them. I like the way you placed these two images together. There are faces that stand out as well as a feeling of just how great is the need. The lighting is superb. Excellent shots.

It's almost standing-room only, seriously - it breaks my heart, that it still exists, when there is so much food wasted everywhere around us ... especially in the 'rich' Western world! The other thing, I have noticed - it's mainly Men? B&W works just fine here, Mark BB
