Description

No one pays them any mind. The world rushes by and leaves them behind. But these are people made of steel. They have survived war, personal tragedy and hard times but they are never down for long. There is too much to do. They never complain or ask for help. And as the world they knew fades before their eyes they persevere.

Well shot, and I like the selective color too! As I get older myself I also note that I become more invisible to those around me and I'm sure the woman in your photo has already realized that. But I must add that it's not all bad, there is some value in the anonymity that it brings and people tend to pay very little attention to me, OR TO WHAT I AM PHOTOGRAPHING! I like that.

i think whaleman put it beautifully. The world doesn't belong exclusively to the young, what price can you put on experience. A beautiful picture done in such a way that it echoes the past.

Indeed yes! Women become invisible at about 40. That is when life can begin, and you realise that it doesn't matter a tinker's cuss what anyone else thinks about you! SUPERB pic.

We all end up there... let us hope we show the same tenacity of spirit when it comes to us.

I like this very much! Bill and I were at the mall today, and were rejoicing in the fact that we were quite invisible to those around us. The only people we talked to was a couple in their late 60s/early 70s, and we had a nice little visit before going our separate ways. SO relaxing! Maybe someone took our picture from behind. :)

I agree with most comments here - but I beg to differ in regards to made of steel, it may have been so long ago - but with old age the steel somehow softens and one has learned to bend - in more ways than one ... just an observation, nothing sinister. An amazing glimpse of life to share here with us - one day it will be us ... a brill pic Mark, BB
