Description

... is another mans Dragon. This imposing figure stands guard outside the Beddgelert craft shop, along with an equally impressive Eagle.Although I understand the 'physics' of something like this, I struggle to get my head around how someone visualizes and then executes something like this...pure talent that leaves me in awe! Hope you like it, I certainly do... Following on from yesterdays post, the bridge is just outside Dollgelau, at the entrance to the remains of Cymer Abbey....

Heck this is impressive Neil. It's truly amazing how creative some people are when give raw materials to work with. 10/10 for you and the guy who did this.

Great comparison. Over in China, they can pull a dragon out of anything.

Hmm... when Michelangelo was asked about his sculpture "David" he said the figure was inside the block of stone, just waiting to "get out". And August Rodin got an idea, placed his model on a turn table and viewed him/her/it from all angles before deciding for the right pose. He then sculpted by following the contours. Just two different approaches to the same fantastic result! A good idea to match these two photos. Both are dragons, the one liberated, the other waiting to be liberated from its encasing extra material. Good job! And, as Rob says, "Wow! Sun!" Keep up the good work! :-)

That's an exceptionally fine looking dragon and I agree with T-rex and auntietk.
