I'm usually the kind to keep quiet about this sort of thing. Bear it in silence.
But I think this is so very important, I must reach out & beg you to keep a watch on your health. Never ignore what you feel may be 'off'.
I've known this could, & probably would, happen, but it floored me with the swiftness of the onset of this latest damage.
I don't write this for sympathy, but for your awareness.
Be aware, I've had Lupus for well over 20 years & dealt fairly well until this latest cycle.
The doc said the meds will probably slow the inevitable, but there has been a lot of damage done by the Lupus & its been out of control. There is fluid in the lining of my heart & its enlarged. It hurts 24/7 now. Liver damage, joint, & tissue damage, too. So everything hurts. Its spread arthritis to my entire body. My vision is fading, also my hearing. Well, except for the constant loud ringing in my ears. Lesions on my skin that are scaring over. Though not very bad right now.
My feet, toes & hands are cramping alot. A bit of dizzy now and then. Migrains aren't as bad with the meds. Doc said she would try to keep me as comfortable as possible, but not to expect too much. I'm already a walking medicine cabinet.
So far my kidneys are doing OK. They don't see any fluid in the brain. Its funny. Sometimes it messes with my nervous system & I talk gibberish. Lol. I can hear myself, but can't stop it. At least it makes me laugh & it passes quickly. I can still get around pretty well, but I also have fibromyalgia so its pain when that hits, too. So far my mind is pretty clear & steady.
I could still have some remission, but the damage has been done.
Please, if you ever expect anything is wrong, get to the docs right away. Never pass it off!

Good and true advice dear Angel. Waiting doesn't help. If you catch many things early enough there is some hope to 'fix' them or put them in remission. I just want to give you a big, big (but gentle) hug sweetie and say I love your spirit in this, and I hope there will be some remission to give you some relief soon. Prayers for you hon.

Oh, Angel... It breaks my heart to read this. Your advice is right on, my dear friend - at the least, have a yearly checkup, no matter your age. Sending hugs and prayers your way, hon. I hope there is some remission and relief for you very soon. A very beautiful work of art, Angel!

sad to read that all horrible that the damage can not be undone I remember my doctor when I told him something was wrong.. He said it wasn't the second time i visited him (1996) he screamed OH MY GOD and I said.. "that is not realy making me happy " but i was right to go back a second time the doctor stopped doing his job.. he was devestated I nearly escaped .. but am still here I hope you will be ok for many years to come

thanks for the wake up call Angel, wow! that really hurts hon. mu god i hope and pray things get better. since being unemployed i have no med covarage at this time, do think i have prostate issues myself. man angel you make me wanna cry. please get better, get rest! love your image btw.. and like many have mentioned never give up!! hugs..

You my sweet are in my prayers every night and your words are wise. Let me say this because of the hope I hope it might bring. I kinda ended up in the same situation only mine was self inflicted. The reason I write this is that I too was told my ending and existence wasn't going be so grand but Angel believe this; everyday things change in medicine. Please do not give up on yourself and don't let the docs give up on you either. I had one bout that I lost but docs and I pushed the envelope. I was sicker than hell over the last two years but we finally got it. Know that I pray for you and if you ever need to talk send me an email and we will. Sometimes strangers of a kind are good to hook up with.

Shit Angel... I knew about the lupus but didn't understand how devastating it was. I am moved by your situation and feel even more drawn toward you than I was before, and that was a lot. Angel your are amazing. Someone who is going through everything you are and can create such beautiful images. Your message hits pretty close to home for me. My husband came dangerously close to losing his foot because he waited so long to go to the doctor. Lack of insurance and money kept him from seeking help until it was almost too late. I hope your doctors can come up with something to help with the pain soon.

aww my friend... sorry to hear that and I know about seeing the dr...mom waited too long then she had pancreatitis.. she's still in pain but at least she is ok more or less now. fabulous shot

I am so sorry. Your work is great. Have you looked into dietary changes and Vitamin C treatment. I am not sure where you live, but there is some pretty interesting research on the documentaries on Netflix about diet and How it effects cancer, diabetes and other things. Even with the damage done you may want to look into these things. I look forward to pestering you about your art for quite some time so hop to it.
