This was taken at the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. There are about 40,000 basalt columns here, so this represents just a portion of the whole. It's a fantastic place. A fantastic capture and I agree with the man in the photo for perspective! There is a similar formation in the US called the Devils Postpile. It is a National Monument and located near Mammoth Mountain in NE Madera County, eastern California.
