Description

This is a view of Chimney Rock from the very top of the trail. We went up as close as we could safely get - there are no barriers of any kind & you can walk right up to the edge of the cliff that faces Chimney Rock. Looking down was somewhat scary - it's a very long way to the bottom...

The rock formations in these canyons never fail to amaze me. A superb image and a glorious DOF.

Not only a long drop but you would bounce a lot off all those rocks, ouch x infinity. Great shot, the clarity and depth of the shot superb. How long did it take you from previous picture to the top of the cliff opposite chimney rock? That is quite a hike, the shot was definitely worth it, but still.--- The colors of earth and sky continue giving the beauty to the adobe and sky being such a striking combinations and both relate to all the colors of nature. Humans should imitate nature more for the benefit of all.

voyaguer: Not that long a hike - only 3 miles round trip & about a 600 foot gain in elevation. Definitely worth it.

Fabulous! I wouldn't be getting very close to the edge, and I wouldn't be looking over! LOL! My tummy does flip-flops just thinking about it.
