Oh, that is a wonderfully decrepit specimen, Harry; rust, peeling paint, and rotting wood, all mixed together for our viewing pleasure. Excellent find and stunning capture, as always!

Excellent capture of this rotting fence. Great textures , earthy colors and very rustic.

All that decay makes for wonderful textures. You've captured it with wonderful detail and contrasts. The nails popping out look cool. Not desirable in a fence, but cool. Great shot!

Makes for an EXCELLENT hot for sure! Almost like recycling! :-)

Honestly, when I first saw this, I thought it was a shot of one of the rock-formations of the Southwest. Or an ancient temple. I was stunned to find out it's a simple fence post. (And of course, you said "fence" in your title! But my first view knocked the title out of my head.) This late morning light is stunning, as the hue of the fence basking in the light pops right off the page. With flush-forward hues like this, one needs contrast, and you give it to us in spades: It's a wonderful symphony of lines peels, cracks, holes, etc., all captured with wonderful sharpness and energy. And the nails are like exclamation points. It's amazing how, in shots like these, a small rupture becomes a 'grand canyon'---witness the break-in-paint in the second plank from the left: In a shot like this, that's a geologic cataclysm. And you captured the peaks of the planks too, with enough pure blue sky in the background to really set this off. Really, it's the simplest shot in the world; but it's just masterful, Harry. This is what I'm talking about: A monumental shot of something everyday. I just love this shot.
