In Mega-Tokyo, 2033, Cyberoids are a common sight on the streets and in the homes of almost every citizen. The rich can afford high-end models, so close to human that you can't tell them apart except on an autopsy table... A cottage industry has grown up around these Cyberoids. "Boomers" as they are commonly called, are picked up from scrap yards, or bought from owners and refurbished... sometimes adding illegal functions which can lead to cyberoids going rogue. But as we are all too well aware, illegality just raises the price... Who knows where the line will be, between human and machine in the future. Will they think like us? Look like us? Wish for the lives we all take forgranted? Just like Pinnochio, they may very well one day wish to be real people... Inspired by one of my favourite Anime Series, "Bubblegum Crisis"...
