Description

I couldn't resist playing with my newest ship model just a little bit more, it seems. I tweaked the texture on the "wings" a little bit as well, which is harder to see in this render, alas. I also wanted to show their "guns" at work. This was actually done as part of a wallpaper project for a friend, who's monitor is considerably larger than my own. For the sake of file-size I cropped down the image to a square so that I could hopefully preserve all of the "action". As before, the models were all my own creation, as are the textures. Created and rendered in Bryce 6.5. The background was done in Photoshop CS3, as was compositing and other minor post-working. Thanks for taking a look!

There is a kinda falcon-ish, or otherwise raptor-like quality to these guys and I love this second glimpse of them. Feel free to do more of these! I really like the textures and the overall gun-metal-gray colors dominating this scene! This is really super: kinda surreal as well, but that's only because I'm looking at this while listening to...um...well...Turkish Classical music! How's that for incongruous! It's funny also, maybe I sympathize with the builders of these vessels, but they don't look sinister to me so much as they look organized and rather busy. Let's hope they accomplish whatever goal they've set for themselves, unless--of course--they are the bad guys...but I don't get that feeling. This rocks!

Absolutely spectacular, Mike! Those ships look so alien and yet so graceful at the same time. A magnificent job on them, and of course a spectacular space scape as well!
