Description
I've been away due to work and family matters, and I've missed you all. But I've begun to comment again, and I hope to get to all of you in the coming weeks. I won't be uploading much, but I'll visit you all to express my appreciation for the wonderful art you've been sharing here every day... In the meantime, sending you my blessings and telling you how wonderful it is to come here at the end of a long day, and see all you dream-up for us every day. I see everything, and it's a joy...

Love the colors and image. Great shot!!!!

I particularly like the camel with the floppy hump! Somebody's been overfed! The colors in this shot are absolutely brilliant and these shaggy two=hump people are quite fun to watch. I spent hours at the zoo, simply spending time watching them (or the flashy, attention-stealing seals) and quite a number of other critters as well! You captured such a wonderful, rich range of golds and browns and other earth-tones and the casually disinterested expressions of the camels as they go about their camel-ish business. I love all of the lines and the curves and contours in this shot. It's a feast for the eyes, with quite a huge number of enormously-intriguing textures.

Gorgeous colours!! I have a soft spot for camels: my lover of many years once told me of all the ladies he had known I was the one who looked most like a camel....Hmmm...

So nice to see a post from you, Mark. I've been thinking about and missing you at Rendo. This shot has some wonderful rich warm colors, so like fall. And I've always thought camels to be the most intriguing looking characters. I've never seen one with a floppy hump before. CC

It was so nice to get up this morning and see an upload from you Mark. First of all let me echo the sentiment of everyone here in how nice it is to have you back. The gallery just isn't the same without you and your thoughtful comments as well as her kind spirit. I also very much enjoyed this photo like everyone else. It would seem that all of us have a soft spot for camels

Yep, me too; camels always seem so magnificently bored with life...must be the way they're drawn! Excellent capture of these furry ships of the desert, Mark, and let me echo the "missed you around here" sentiment.

I am so pleased to see a posting from you again as I have missed your superb captures. Lovely autumn colours in this excellent photo and it does look great in zoom, many more details. I have never seen a camel with a floppy hump before, I wonder if it is a mal function or just that he doesn't have to store anything in there as he gets fed regularly. I hope you are well and that your hands are working well again.

Glad you're back with us again, Mark, hopefully for a more often presence. But, camels in the freezing Chicago zoo? How extraordinary. I don't remember, is a double humped variety a dromedary, or are all camels dromedarys? That said, wonderful clarity, composition and stark contrast in this image.

Hi Mark. Beautiful tone in this photo...light and color draws my eye to these fascinating, furry subjects:)

Hello back! Now that we have snow (yay! finally) and cold temps, this camel shot looks SO warm and inviting. Truly a dessert glow to it. And camels seem so peaceful and passive (until they spit - I hear). I love the colors in this almost as much as I love the geometry and texture of the wooden posts and blocks of stone. And the fence! - great smooth grid-look and shiny. Very welcome and appreciated image. Hope you are well and thank you for dropping in!!

Such yummy golden tones, and warm light! You were there at the perfect time. Just look at those shadows. Wow. Glorious!! That might seem an odd thing to say about a picture of camels, but it isn't the camels so much as it is the light and shadow, the glow and depth. Beautifully done!
