Description
Definitely not Kansas. This is first image of a new series that looks at the life of 15 year old Callie and her family after arriving on New Tarakina IV, one of the new worlds which are just starting to be colonized. They moved here from the eastern urboplex, a giant city that cover the North American Atlantic coast from southern Florida to Nova Scotia. Her dad is an engineer and her mom an MD. They arrived a few days ago and went out on a trip with one of the truck to see the nearby mushroom forests. It is the first time that Callie sees something like the great outdoors.
New Tarakina IV is a young planet with a breathable atmosphere and abundant sea life. Temperatures are tropical (25-35C on average) with a near permanent cloud cover. Trace gases in the atmosphere give it a slightly greenish tint. Life on land is just starting out, lichen, fungi and moss dominate the plant life. insect-like life forms are the most common animal types.
