Description

Just when you thought I forgot the story... He had awakened before dawn and crept along the dark hallways. The dream had seemed so real, urging him to descend the steps down to the cellar. That dream, filled with violence and blood was familiar somehow. How many years, he wondered, had passed him by since the last true memory had revealed itself? He was old now, nearly ancient by some standards. His true age was one of those memories that had been washed away, along with his name and most all of anything that could have helped him discover who the hell he was. He had taken the name Deschain years ago, a name from some long forgotten novel he had read at some point... sounded right though. He knew he had lived the last few years in this house. Before that he had wandered the territories aimlessly, trying to find clues to his identity, without success, days turned to weeks and months into years.... at least in his mind that was how it seemed. The steel door was rusty and the lock had long ago passed the point of usefulness. He drove his shoulder against the metal... it gave way with a loud creak, releasing a wave of musty air that reminded him of a crypt. The lamp he had brought with him emitted enough light to see a bit into the room. It wasn't as large as he had imagined it to be, more like a storage area than a boiler room. There was an old chest againt one wall, not locked, he opened it and took out the small box that was contained inside. He had no idea of how much time had gone by when he finally came to his senses. The gun in his hand felt as though it had been made for him. The feel of the grip and the weight perfect. The picture he had found was of him, although seemingly taken a lifetime ago. Sitting on the dirty floor of this forgotten space, cloudy visions filled his mind. The last thing he recalled was being thrown into a dark room. He and Sadie had become seperated while attempting to rescue some young girls, but where, he couldn't remember. That was yesterday, how did he get so old? And what had happened to him that left his mind so void of who he was?

Great render, great atmosphere, and great storyline; well-done, Seth! Now I'm going to have to go back in time a little bit and reread the previous episodes. Seems my memory is lapsing as well! LOL

I had a good laugh : the first and only boss I had when I went out of school, had strictly the same face ! You know now why I didn't want and need another one when I left him the first year, even for one more time. lol Amazing storyline Seth...
