I believe that an image should conduct a dialogue with the viewer. The more words necessary to explain the image, the weaker the messsage.
I make no claim to artistic skill. I'm like a kid with a box of crayons; but I lack the purity.
Considering the agenda of either wing to be folly, I represent what was once the center, BEFORE certain media bloviators claimed the mainstream for themselves.
Of our OWN universe, we are always the center.

But how will we defend our freedoms from the government or the Communists or my neighbor or the guy down the street or YOU if I can't have my assault rifle? Last week a crazy person walked into a school in China and injured 22 children with a knife. No one died. Yesterday a crazy person walked into a school in Connecticut with two semi-automatic pistols and murdered 20 children. And that's my statement on gun control. This image has tremendous impact. I wish you would send it to Congress.

This man did not have a gun or any guns for that matter; he stole the guns from the 1st person he killed.

I like your comment about the head of the NRA explaining himself to the parents of the dead children. He wont, of course. Someone might get angry with him and for no reason. Ever notice that, despite all the guns in the States, when someone starts shooting, it is always at people who can't shoot back. A week before Christmas… Breaks your heart.

I applaud your statement!

This image is so powerful & is a heartbreaking reflection of the world we live in where violence overshadows so many of the truly good things people can achieve & do.

The guns belonged to his mother (she owned 5), and she was his first victim. A lot of good her guns did her. Excellent image.

I don't see how you can have a stricter gun law than a "gun free zone", such as a school or movie theater or a mall where these things always happen. Setting up zones where people can't defend themselves is a great way for people to feel morally pious about saying "guns are bad", but not so good for the people who are actually there. Inevitably when people die because they were denied the right to defend themselves with deadly force there are those people like you who come out of the woodwork and illogically respond that we need to have more of that.

Law? You think a guy who is willing to KILL HIS OWN MOTHER, face down a SWAT team AND blow his own brains out is worried about LAW??? Even worse, do you think if there were a dozen guns blasting away at guys like this, that those people wouldn't be shooting each other and everybody else??? I can see it all now: You hear shots, draw your weapon, and acquire target on the OTHER twenty guys with guns drawn. Even if you do choose the real "Bad Guy" (He'll be the one wearing the "I'm the Bad Guy" shirt) I hope all the other shooters are conveniently firing from an elevated position of cover (not likely in a mall, theater or school)OTHERWISE your cross-fire is just a self-inflicted funeral. If there's bystanders, they won't be standing for long! Now if we can just return to reality for a moment.... These weapons were LEGALLY OWNED! Just NOT by the shooter. The only "strong" gun law will be the one that REMOVES these guns altogether. Are such wackos as this guy ANYONE'S idea of a "Well-regulated militia"?? Because THAT'S what the framers wrote into the Bill of Rights: A "Well-regulated militia" NOT an artillery-fueled blood bath. Fully 70% of the NRA's own members favor stronger restrictions. It's the contributions from well-heeled gun manufacturers that keep these nut-buckets armed and crazy. I own FOUR handguns (read:No moral piety or woodwork dwelling here.)and NOBODY is gonna tell me that a 20-round magazine is needed for "DEFENSE"! Anyone who does needs to drop his "Rambo" fantasies and take a class.
