I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Wonderful capture Carin!

Well, he can kick, stab, slash and whirl all he wants, but I doubt it would have much impact on the ocean. Otherwise, great action shot, Carin.

I love this! The composition is just right, and your subject is fascinating! I can imagine watching him there, practicing his moves over and over again. He looks quite proficient. If I made a kick like that, you'd get a picture of me flat on my a$$! LOL! A marvellous image, Dierbaar. Perfect timing!

After reading Helle's comment, I'm looking for a stunned gull! When I first saw this I thought: "Kicking the Ocean" which kinda stuck in my head as a title to use, although I have no idea when or where! Funny how that works. I can also tell that you had fun when you were taking this shot. There's so much life in it. It's a brilliant capture, kinda one of those once-in-a-lifetime shots! Isn't photography fun? Especially when it produces a keeper of a shot like this.
