Description
Captured 12/20/12, early morning, on a boulevard close to home.
Yep, no more ladders or scaffolds needed to do the job, this is the high tech way of getting things done.
My obsession with shadows as indicated in this shot.
A ZOOM would be beneficial.
There was another painter over to his right also applying his talents to this new edifice, photos of which I will post anon.
Ciao, and have a nice day.

Nice catch, Harry...his shadow makes him look like a giant...and a little like ET.

Ooh, I want one of those! What a great aid to all kinds of jobs around the place! And well seen, Harry, all kinds of cool shadows in this, plant and mechanical and human all together. An excellent find and capture, Harry. Did they wonder if you were from OSHA as you were taking their picture, I wonder?

Some really cool shadows here Harry, and it looks like things are a bit too modern for me

Cool shot, I agree his shadow does like a bit like ET of King Kong...

I agree with Andrea: brilliant. And with Denise too. I can't leave as many comments this time as my previous sessions, but at least I can leave some while I'm sitting up. And I have to say: An amazing piece of serendipity that your birthday coincides with your 2300th image! (Assuming you continue posting daily, which I don't think you've failed to do except in illness or surgery.) I'll post your birthday image in the coming week or so, when I'm 100%, but at least I can comment more before my next back appt, later today... But onto the pic. The picture, of course, is a find, because of the wonderful outlay of people, machine and light, etc. But it's also a wonderful capture of hue, shadow and textures. The hues here---can't find the right words. The amber-ish beige in the upper half of the building is such a wonderful mix, it's early morning amber, but you captured richness in it, almost opulent. I just stared at it when it went up. And the lower half is punctuated by those wonderful plastic-filled windows with more subtle but opulent hues. I love that grayish blue in the plastic. And you handled the white paint well too: Its plainness, and lack of detail, grit, etc, has the feel of an actual painting, of broad swatches everywhere. A terrific in-life abstract, with subtle but rich hues and soft looming shadows. And the composition: the red line at the bottom framing the whole; the rust-brown line in the middle of the building, a parallel; the contrast of the crane with the shadows and the 3 well places trees; that beautiful yellow hydrant as harmony with those metal structures on the sidewalk---I don't know what they are (garbage cans? meters of some kind? guard cylinders, ie against intrusion?)---it's such a construction, like someone built it for an art show. A prime example of your mastery of urban forms. A real gem.

Love the shadows in this capture. Congratulations with your picture being selected for gallery of the week 53. God Bless.

I love your idea of composition.

Kind of late, but finally got around to checking out the LWITG selections. This is a great shot - your obsession with shadows really paid off big time here. This is the kind of photo that demonstrates that there are wonders all around us, hiding in plain view, if we're prepared to see them...
