Description
I was going to post another Canyonlands photo, but my Thursday night poker group (we've been playing poker every other week for over 5 years - we play for small stakes but have big fun) let out later than usual (after midnight) & when we looked up at the sky we saw a full moon with one of the biggest rings around it that any of us had ever seen. Didn't have my camera with me, but it was still there when I got home & I managed to get a shot of it.
I was barely able to get the entire ring in the frame & though I don't really have the right equipment or the skills to photograph this properly, hopefully it's good enough to convey a sense of what it looked like. It was quite an awesome sight...

Fantastic capture very beautiful

I love this! There's just enough moisture in the air to form the ring, but not enough to obscure the moon. Fabulous!!

Super capture of the bright moon encircled by the ring of ice crystals in this stellar night shot.

Nicely captured! I've never seen one that big either, well done!

Looks very nice. Means snow where I live.

Looks good for sure. And as Whaleman points out you caught Jupiter too, and right on the edge of the ring, which is kinda ironic in a way.

Lucky catch indeed, immortalised here forever now! Poker is a great card game, which I also used to favour - good on you! BB BTW I wonder if I or you misread my accompanying words on my last post? I don't do resolutions ever! - it was a tongue in cheek thought only, to interpret the image! my sense of humour ...

I captured one before and my lens that I had on my camera was not wide enough to catch the entire ring. outstanding work on this
