Description
This mock rockstar poster is yet another piece for my freelance game-dev pal Donovan's Heroes on Demand series. This entry is for the Dresden Files roleplaying game, based on the wonderful Jim Butcher urban fantasy novels. There's several breeds of vampires in this setting, one of which--the White Court--subsists not on others' blood but on their life force. Many of them use seduction and passion to take their prey; hence the males are often called incubi.
This particular vampire/incubus is also a rock musician. Other than that, and my knowlege from the books, all I had to go on was "Something Freddie Mercury would wear on stage" and "Maybe white hair with black roots." Well, Freddie wore a lot of different things on stage, but I decided on a coat and the usual tight jeans. Rather than on-stage, I went with a "poster shot" partly because it appealed to me more than the other and partly because I felt a performance scene would be much busier, and the focus should be on the character. I experimented with a couple different hairstyles and eyes before settling on this look--and my daughter even likes it. Wow!
I used Michael 3, "Adrian" from Daz 3D's Men of Fantasy set, Fox Hair (also Daz 3D), and Michael 3 and 4 clothing items for the character. The guitar is from 3-D-C's Industrial Punk Rock set available at Renderosity. (I love 3-D-C's products and get excellent results in Daz Studio 3 and Carrara 8.) Only postwork is touching up a bit of poke-through and the signature.
