Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

nice photo Dana, your friend will enjoy it.

WOW! Thank you! If the ancient Egyptian gods were real, then the god Thoth would probably be embarrassed at you showing the world his baby picture! Or not...Thoth doesn't seem to be one of those mythic divinities with an ego to throw around and so he'd probably be amused. I have a particular affinity with Thoth, since I'm a writer, and according to ancient Egyptian mythology, he was the inventor of writing...and an ibis to top it off. This is a marvel of a photo and I love the casual elegance of this little person! Thank you very much for the dedication!

Juveniles usually have a lot of brown on them, this one may just be extra small. They are great birds to have around. They often travel through our neighborhood, from lawn to lawn searching for insects.

LOL@Chip! At any rate, the bird isn't posing on a bearskin rug with a bare bottom for the world to see. He/she is a gorgeous little creature, very clean and white and fluffy. Excellent shot!

A lovely capture of this beautiful little bird. Maybe his Mum decided to live in Florida permanently as the climate is so good and produced this little one. He is so white against the green grass.
