Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

You remember the song: Fox on the run? ;-)

I don't have this problem so don't know whether you are lucky or not! She is a pretty little animal.

So sad that such a beautiful animal must be labeled a nuisance only because mankind is zapping-up the last of their natural habitats... I have another Renderosity contributor "Favorite", Beverly aka "Krittermom" is a certified wildlife rescuer that really goes that extra mile to aid these and other poor creatures in Tennesee here in the US... like you Andrea, so many of her photos really touch ones heart.

And she is so cute!!! Wonderful photos of your intruder Andrea. Have to smile at her tapping on your glass to let you know she is visiting. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent capture

Such great you could make those beautiful pictures, Andrea. But I don't know if you are such lucky by having this visitor around you.
MrsRatbag
She is such a cheeky little thing! Probably she thinks she's found a wonderful spot to live, so comfortable and pretty. Poor Ralphie! Bet he was barking his head off when she scrabbled at the window!

Yes we have them here Andrea, I like to see them but it is hard with the girls. She is a sweetie, but I know you could do without her in the garden.

Wonderful capture Andrea. a shame that they were hunted like they were....nasty sport!

A pretty young lady. She obviously feels comfortable around you. A wonderful pair of images. I hope she stays safe.

OH! she is pretty and maybe she felt a bit the warm from the inside. As you know, we have foxes around here too.

Lovely fur coat in these stellar shots of the ostracized vulpine canine creature, caught making its way out of your garden, Andrea. I suppose it would be a waste of time and effort to try taming it so you could adopt it as another member of your doggie family....possibly a playmate for Rosie.

So bold!! Pity you have to keep such a close eye out, but it's worth the extra trouble. Great shots, btw. I feel like I was there, looking out the window with you!
kaward
She does look in good condition and colour. You got the sparkle in her eye on the second shot!
jocko500
thought the English is good at fox hunting. guess they need to do some of that again on horse back as in the old days. good shot

How lovely to have her visit your garden though I guess she does pose some problems for you. She knows where to find a beautful garden with great hiding places. Excellent captures.

Good photos of this bold little creature.

What a delight to find her in your garden, yet I appreciate the problems she causes. The most I've had in our yard are bunnies, and one woodchuck. Oh .. yes and many skunks, some who have sprayed and hit their mark. sigh.

My old collie Ben wouldn't come in when he smelt fox he patrolled the field for hours and some time to our disgust he came in smelling of fox,He wasn't keen on being hosed down in the garden.
aksirp

Good photos!

Such a gorgeous little person. I just love a little vulpine lady and she's nicely rotund. Very healthy. Wonderful shots! I almost wish there was a way to domesticate foxes.
danapommet
A lovely animal but I understand how much of a nuisance they can be in a neighborhood!
