Description
Hooray! Huzzah!
... oh...... but only in our dreams, apparently.
... *sigh*...
Anyway... I had hoped to get a few more of these out before the "Fringe" series finale, but with only days to go this will likely be the last of my Fringe-Lost-Alias/Neverwinter Nights crossover series.
Depicted here is a rendering of the NWN2 character "Zhjaeve, Zerth Priestess of the Githzerai" as played by "Alias" actress Jennifer Garner... or a half-way reasonable facsimile thereof, using good ol' Victoria 3 as the base model.
Inspiration for this image was taken from the original game-play character, illustrations of the "Githzerai" race by talented WotC artist Michael Komarck, and the multiple and wonderfully exotic characterizations played by Ms. Garner during her tenure as "Sydney Bristow".
The final single image shows the synthesized result, with Zhjaeve as a "Planeswalker" while she is "crossing-over" from her own planar homeworld ( Limbo ) into our prime Material Plane.
An interesting character, really ( so long as she doesn't start every other sentence with the words "Know that... " ), and an interesting fictional species.
The Githzerai ( and their cousin species, the "Githyanki" ) are written as having evolved from basically human stock, though they "now" are somewhat alien, even a bit reptilian in appearance. They have a highly disciplined and pragmatic culture, though they are far from being without emotions, underneath their stoic exteriors. In particular, with respect to the development of their mental abilities, which is as a practical necessity since order in the realm they inhabit would degenerate into chaos without their rigidly willful control. Their "cities" are built from pure thought.
( Hmmm... in a way they're a bit like what the Observers might eventually become if Walter's "Plan" succeeds as intended. How about that!... )
I've taken just a few "artistic" liberties, here:
Though she is described as having pale-yellow or yellow-gray eyes, I've made the pupils a bit elongated in keeping with a more interesting reptilian appearance that goes better with her greenish-brown tinted skin.
Note that here, as in the game, she wears a veil. Game-wise, the intent was supposedly to lessen the likelihood of her being mistaken for one of their aggressively war-like cousins, the Githyanki. Here, it's just mostly due to the excessive snubbiness of their noses. Though... I am inclined to think that Jennifer could probably pull it off while still looking good... so long as the make-up artist and costume designer don't simply make her look like Lord Voldemort.
But don't let her looks fool you... er... She is as good at handling her spear/staff as she is at summoning a lightning bolt, or materializing a massive stone missile, to deal with her enemies.
The background is simply a first pass representation of a city-structure built from thoughts that are fighting the chaos. I may have to work on it a bit more... and maybe think about it a little.
The content used here includes V3, of course. Also, DAZ's harem outfit for V3 combined with Xurge3D's Drow Priestess outfit ( retextured with DzFire's RealMetals material ).
Finally, the background was constructed from Stonemason's "Winter Kingdom" props, and jiggery-poked a bit in Corel Draw.
EDIT 01/15/13: The browser page Thumbnail for this submission ( showing V3 as my "Sydney" starting-point ) was re-rendered for better texture and a livelier expression.
