Description
One more of these for this month... probably ( as I've got to return to working with other concerns for the next few weeks )... and just a simple character portrait for this one. Although, this particular character is one of the main reasons I'd gotten started on this project, in the first place.
Originally, my "Astrid" morph was intended as an accompanying character, along with my "Noble", "Jackson", and Ariah81's "Olive" morph, for the creation of a series of purely "Fringe" fan art images. However, it was Astrid, as wonderfully portrayed by actress Jasika Nicole, that really started me thinking about combining the show's cast, story personalities, and inter-relating dynamics, with the setting, story, and characters of "Neverwinter Nights 2".
Neeshka, the tiefling rogue of NWN2, is a complex character. And she's still one of my favorites from all of gaming. And, for the record, I think that Ms. Nicole, especially given her performance as the two Astrid's, would be tremendous and even more memorable in the role of "Neeshka". At the very least, she has the perfect voice for the role.
Like the actress, Neeshka is multi-talented, and becomes a great asset to the RPG player's team. Like the red-universe "Alt-Astrid", she's also a sorely-damaged soul ( judging by how she reacts in the game to any act or word of kindness from the player character ), apparently harboring a whole lot of hurt ( ... and so it would be nice if J.J. Abrams would deliver at least a bit more of Astrid & Alt-Astrid's backstory before the show's over ). And just like our blue-universe "Astrid"... you'd never know it, at all, from simply talking to her.
The Victoria 4.2 morph, that I've used here, has gone through varying stages of resemblance at this point and, admittedly, is still not quite right. The chin is still a bit too wide (... little I can do about that, within the parameters of the V4 ++morphs ), and the eyes... maybe... just a little too large. Just as she is, though, she seems ( to my eyes, anyway ) to bear a slight resemblance to the NWN2 character. And the eyes would seem to give her a sort of waif-ish character...
... which is probably just as it should be, given Neeshka's backstory as someone abandoned by human parents who apparently had not previously known that one of their own fathers was not quite the person he had appeared to be. And therefore had not expected that their own child would consequently be born with small horns on her head, red eyes, pointed teeth, spotted skin, feral ears, and a tail.
All-in-all, a great character... for either a movie or a tv series as, for one thing, Neeshka had her tail well before Cameron had his Navi'.

Some Quotes:
Neeshka: "Neeshka - Neeesh-ka, emphasis on the "Neee". Not many people get it right. Or try to."
Ephraela: "What do you mean?"
Neeshka: "Usually they call me "thief", "cursed one", "demon wench", "rat-child", "goat-girl", the list goes on. You'd think "Neeshka" wasn't that hard to remember."
Ephraela: "You mean you get those insults all the time?"
Neeshka: "It's not too bad, I mean, all those things are true."
Ephraela: "Neeshka - that's an odd name."
Neeshka: "I'm told it means something in the Lower Planes, but since I don't get down there much... although, obviously, good old grandpa made a habit of coming up here for the night life, if you, uh, get my meaning."
Ephraela: "So you're a tiefling?"
Neeshka: "Yeah, but shhh - don't tell anyone... I wouldn't want anybody else to figure it out - I mean, aside from the horns."
