My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Wonderful light and shadows!

So evocative for me of long hot childhood summers...we were trusted to be fairly feral!

Neat old truck and photo Tara.

Excellent image! It is such a nice vehicle and sometimes I just wish I had the skills, knowledge and money to revamp such an old car. Stunning!
alanwilliams
beautiful, i love the composition, but above all the subtle colours of corrosion and abandonment

Great find and the light is the icing on the cake.

Rusty crusty....this is a great motive. such a car graveyard give not in Germany. I travel to the U.S. in April. Can you give me one address, where I so find a place? Please. It is a dream motive of mine. Excellent capture!

That one has seen better days! But what an old classic, and the rust is wonderful!

A beautiful photo, Tara! Love the lighting on this old derelict truck - it's beautiful once again! You know every time I see one of these old vehicles rusting away, I think "somebody was really really proud of this vehicle at one time.." :-)

Beautiful composition & light. I don't necessarily associate old cars with romance, but this has a romantic feel to it. When I saw it, I immediately thought of the cinematography in "Bonnie & Clyde"...

It is in this way that the dreams finish themselves...No? Very beautiful atmosphere of an period! Bravo Tara!

Low miles and ready to go (just channeling my inner car salesman). What a great find. Wonderful light and textures.

The truck doesn't need a thing. It says Americana to me. Love your composition but the lighting really makes the photo for me. Yes, I found this model thanks to Google...both 1951 and 52 Ford pickups look virtually identical.

What a shame! Makes for a great picture or ten but still, it should be running....maybe with a big V8 installed! ;-) Rob

Thank you so much. I love the rusty atmosphere and lighting. Very proud to be a man of influence (kidding) :)

What a shame they have reached the end of the road but they are making a great resting place for lots of animals and insects and the grasses are softning the hard lines of the truck. An excellent capture with great light.
