Description
This is a view from below Skyline Arch. I believe the big boulder at lower right may be the boulder or part of the boulder that fell out of the arch in 1940 & doubled the size of the opening. No way for me to be sure, but it seems likely. And, after clear blue, almost cloudless skies for our entire trip, we finally got a few dramatic cloud formations during our day at Arches - that was a nice bonus...

Cool perspective. It would have been great to see that boulder fall out.

Oh gosh! From a distance, it looks like you could walk right up to the arch. That's VERY high up! The boulder in the foreground is a great compositional touch, and unless there was another one very much like it right there, that's undoubtedly the one. I'm sure nobody has moved it. Wonderful image, and the clouds are spectacular!

Love the POV on this. I'm glad I wasn't under that boulder when it fell.

It is a beautiful sky to show off the arch and sandstone colors. Congratulations for this photo being chosen for LWITG.
