Description

someone has sprayed on the tank of the old coke plant. It is a part of the old steelworks. The Ruhr region, with its wide affiliated steel industry in Germany is the heart of the "German economic miracle" was after the Second World War. The large huts are now closed. Some steelworks, the still work to be subsidized by the state for years. Unemployment is high in the Ruhr. Duisburg is the tail light, the red lantern in NRW. Germany is among the 10 largest steel producers in the world.

I saw something smaller and less impressive than this in Dortmund, when I lived there, and this makes me think of what I was missing. I MUST return to Germany! This is such a beautiful image. Those structures are purely functional (or they were at one time) and they also look incredibly alien...like something I would expect to see in Star Trek or Star Wars. Brilliant!

This is a great environment! It looks almost dystopian, or faded cyber-punk. Really like how the vibrant yellow stands out against the rust and decay like a bold statement of affection.

Such differences but also simularities from there and here in the states as we have abandoned sites like this as well but are heavly covered in graffitti.. Cool Capture!
