Description

It is not only us feeling the warm weather ... The heat is also on for the birds and all are welcome here at the local birdbath! It's every day now, that I have to refill it a couple of times, because the bathing time is often quite hilarious to watch. They come from everywhere and making such a big splash - that in no time, the pool is low on water again ... *** The thumbnail is the 'Noisy Friarbird' - (philemon corniculatus) #1 - 'Red-browed Finch' (neochmia temporalis) #2 - 'Superb Fairy-Wren' (malurus cyaneus) the male is blue! #3 - 'Superb Fairy-Wren' the beige/grey is female #4 - 'Double-barred Finch (taeniopygia bichenovii) the last one is a whole clan bathing together: #5 - 'Silvereye' (zosterops lateralis) *** Apologies to Andrea, some of the Crows/Raven came as well, but they are very shy and every pic was blurred, they are so easily spooked ;( Cheers Brigitte BTW all pix are taken through a glassdoor with a flywire screen - I am quite pleased with the result, despite the set-back.

These pics are SO good! I am really impressed, Brigitte. A bird-photographer I am not: success in this feld is rare for me. Those wrens are a delight, but the award for 'snazzy dresser' has to be the double barred finch! What an outfit! I dress more like the Red browed finch in the winter: mainly khaki with a splash of red. I feel an affinity with that bird.

Reminds me of hot summer days at the public pool and everybody enjoying the water, with lots splashing, hi-jinks and fun ! Quite a collection of bird-life, wonder who's going to visit the pool next ? a Sea Eagle ? LOL Pretty good result though the fly-screen, actually in the bottom piccy, there are small star-bursts...very kool bonus ! ~Cheers~

A fabulous collage of wonderful captures of all these birds. They all have great colourings and you have managed to get such perfect shots. So this is where my little silvereye go in the summer, I only have a couple left here at the moment but come winter they will all be back I hope. I'm so glad you are taking care of the birds in the heat as I hear it is really getting to the birds and animals.

Well obviously Australian swimming pools are for the birds. What a marvelous collection you have. Another reason to clean your windows. Surprised about the crows. Ours are quite bold. They will sit on a fence or telephone wire and yell at you.

What a very big surprise to see all those fantastic looking and special kind of birds, dear Brigitte. Is this in your garden? I guess so. You must have a fantastic camera, because despite of the window each of your photo's are amazing good. I love those beautiful colored birds very, very much, and I thank you for sharing this. Here, we would never seen such beauties, although these days we've seen a lot of kinds tits, red spotted woodpecker, robin and the like.
