My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Oooo, these really do look to be guardians and one looks to have a nicely carved top. Amazing what mother nature does. A super misty capture.
jocko500
wonderful shot of low tide.

Great title. They do look like monuments left behind by some ancient people.

...then tide rushes in and washes our castles away then I'm really not so sure... very cool capture Tara evoked the Moody Blues

Interesting texture on the bottom half of those piers.

Low tide indeed, eh? Beautiful against the fog, and I love your POV down there on the beach!
Isabelle711
Oh my goodness the tide is really low isn't it. :) Amazing in great details and capture my friend. :))))) Love the sweet fog. :)))))) Thank you for sharing all of the beauty you see. :)))) Carry A Warm Smile In Your Heart :))))))

First the tide rushes in, but when? Nice shot Tara.

They could tell a few stories! The two tallest look like royalty. Such a satisfying photo which makes me feel like a beach visit. It's been too icy to go down the zigzag.

Stunning capture Tara. God Bless.

So many stories in this shot. Love it! Clive

Zoom brings out the true beauty of this shot.

Full of atmosphere and no snow.

What a shot! What a wonder! Oh I love decayed pilings. They always remind me of fossils of another sort: ruins, perhaps, or...well...the bones of some interesting thing now inhabited by other interesting things. You've got my alien environment Muse all anxious to start looking around for interesting, alien cultures to spin yarns about!

Interesting looking beach Tara! Did you find anything?

Stunning shot...

Foggy shot of something that used to be... Cool one Tara! Rob

OHH! This is awesome, Tara. A really lovely shot of the low tide and the very old poles.

I love seeing what appears at low tide. There's a wonderful walk hear here that ends at the beach. An old fence just disappears into the water as though it's still useful. Your foto has that same feeling.
Sea_Dog
Nice work, I like the slightly foggy background - adds a little mystery.

Where did the water go? It is so familiar yet very unfamiliar without the water! I cannot begin to describe how I miss you guys!

a spooky beauty

A motely crew we have at this beach...guarding the tide:) I love how different the same place can be with a change in weather, light and tide. I never grown tired of walking around down there. Neat composition.

Great capture Tara. You know it never occurred to me to take a picture of these old stumps when I was stationed up there. They just didn't look worth photographing, besides we had other things on our minds at the time. Your picture just proofs that beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Most interesting and with fantastic details, dear friend. The textures and shapes of the posts are so beautiful. The landscape is great. We here have a place with very old poals, you remind me to go to that place again, so thank you, Tara :)

Reminds me when we were in school, raising our hands... Kewl capture. Aloha

Quite good idea. I love it.

Looks like they've been guarding it for a long time.... A wonderful shot, Tara! I love the atmosphere, and the textures on the pilings in the gravelly beach.
