Description
Captured 5/16/10, mid morning, at the beautiful 16th Annual Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival, held at the beautiful Muckenthaler Cultural Center in beautiful Fullerton, California.
Part two of the visual odyssey into the elegant forms and details of this classic beauty.
The hood ornament of the Roman God, Mercury, again shown in the top picture, but with a different POV. At the risk of increased wind resistance, there is even a windscreen for occupants of the rumble seat in the last shot, along with interesting reflections.
Pozegnanie, and have a nice day.

Very nice captures of this true classic car Harry

Two things "POP OUT" at me. The immense amount of chrome used on these cars and the vivid reflections you were able to capture on these photos. :)

You've put up alot of very classy cars over time...I think this is my favorite. More superb photos arranged to give us the best view possible without being there.

Yes, she is a truly classic beauty, Harry; so many interesting details to peruse in these excellent captures! I'm no expert, but I can't think when I've ever seen a windshield on a rumble seat. The lap of luxury indeed! Great work!

all these Roadster shots are worthy of comment, and if I say why I chose 'this' one, I wouldn't have an answer: I chose it because it was one of the several that I loved. (How's that for evading the answer! They're all beautiful, that's what I mean.) It's fitting that you began this montage with Mercury, the god flying between worlds. ("Be Mercury, set feathers to thy heals, and fly like thought from them to me again..." Shakespeare.) But you have this misty light between it and its pedestal, which fits Mercury perfectly. Don't know if it was flare, but whatever it comes from, I really like its presence and that you allowed and incorporated it into the shot. Also, his arms are in harmony with the lines of the car behind. (One has to see this full size to get all this.) Then your move through 4 images, with increasing closeups: The chrome is beautiful, the green is beautiful, the reflections are beautiful---you caught them all with your usual aplomb in car shots. I agree with Bill about the many classy shots you give us of this sort. Also, the sweep of the cloth roof, in shot 3, is fine counterpoint to the rest of the shot. And I love how the people and objects all blend into the composition of shot 4: That upper third is really busy and buzzing, including a headlight with someone looking into it. Really well seen, with that beautiful dashboard just below. And the last shot culminates in a beautiful swooping reflection in the rumble seat-backing. Not to mention the windshield, which is also 'new' to me, as it was to Denise. A big verdant sweeping set of captures---talk about abstraction encased in realistic shots, this is chock full of opulent forms. And with those 4 flags in the last two shots, it's like victory waving in the wind...
